As we begin to notice our energetic connections to everything around us, we are gradually able to release the feeling of existential loneliness that has always been a part of life in the physical dimension.
Feeling into these energetic connections brings an awareness of belonging, being one of many valuable parts of the web of life that exists all around us.
We go from feeling separate and unworthy to a realization of how each person, each species, each rock and mountain, have their own energy connection to us and their own unique and valuable contribution to the whole. We go from being an isolated dominater and/or controller to a grateful participant in joyful cooperation and co-creation.
Learning to see energetic connections also brings an awareness of physical connections we have overlooked, taken for granted or just discovered. We begin to notice how wholes are organized into systems where functional and energetic relationships make the whole so much more than the sum of the parts. We also begin to notice how each system can also be regarded as a subsystem of a larger whole, which is, in turn, a subsystem of an even larger whole.
For example, each organ in our body has a number of subsystems made up of cells, helpful bacteria and microbes, and energetic connections that all work together to keep the organ healthy. That organ, in turn, is a subsystem of the larger body, working together with all the other organs to maintain physical life at its optimum.
Although we have thousands of cells in our bodies, all it takes is one cell that feels separate, that decides it no longer wants to work for the good of the whole. If this cell begins to reproduce irresponsibly, a cancer cell is born. If this behavior continues, other cells are influenced and soon the entire organism is threatened.
Using this analogy we can see how suicidal this is for the wayward cell. If it kills the whole of which it is a part, it will die too. But the feeling of separation inherent in the physical realm makes it very easy for humans to overlook this important fact when it come to their own actions.
When we begin to see things as energy, these connections are not just mental insights, but strong emotional ties. We feel kinship with even the insects that bite us, or the weeds that overtake our gardens. While we might wish they would go elsewhere, we realize they have a purpose too, and wish them well.
When we activate these energetic connections by not just becoming aware of them mentally, but really experiencing the emotional energy connection itself, we open lines of energetic communication that were not available before.
One summer I noticed that potato bugs had attacked the eggplants in my garden. I had six eggplants and all were infected. I connected energetically with the potato bugs by opening my heart and sending them honor and respect and an understanding that they needed to eat too. I told them they could have two plants if they left me four. I showed them which plants were theirs and left the garden. A few days later, I noticed that the potato bugs had indeed moved to the two plants I had designated. All the rest were bug free and remained that way, giving me plenty of eggplant for my table.
From this place of connection, from this place of honor and respect, we can open our hearts to even those of different species and ask for their help in our endeavors. When this energetic connection is activated, they then understand that you are also a conscious part of the whole and that cooperation is what makes the whole work.
Multidimensional living is about developing an awareness of the energy dimension. But in order to create with energy and to navigate successfully using energy awareness, we much also experience our energy connections emotionally. Experiencing these connections not only allows us to create with energy, but envelops us in the experience of belonging, the experience of being uniquely ourselves, and yet also a part of the wonderful wholeness that is creation. It opens up lines of communication that welcome cooperation and co-creation, and gifts us with a true sense our own unique value, while still being enveloped in a larger, benevolent whole.
