We certainly seem to be in a crisis of governance, not only here in the US but all over the world. While people struggle to find jobs to support themselves and their families, the financial and political elite insists on austerity for just those struggling people. This, of course, just leads to more job loss and misery, with few able to actually pay the taxes needed to keep government solvent. But this is part of the plan – many conservatives would like to dismantle government completely. So we have a situation where the two sides seem to be at polar opposites, with neither willing to negotiate or compromise.
In order to understand what’s happening let’s first look at the energetic definition of government.
While the physical world assumes all material objects are separate, the energy realm is rooted in wholeness and connection. Every individual cell, organism, person, county, state, or nation is not just an entity unto itself, but also a part of a larger whole. And these wholes are not only defined by the sum of their parts, but also by the number and kind of relationships and connections between them.
There are millions of cells in the human body, but even though they can each be separated and identified as individuals, the number and kind of relationships between them (and the larger whole) will determine whether the orgasm they are a part of is healthy or diseased. If a number of cells decide to alter or sever these relationships so that they are no longer serving the whole, the result is cancer or some other serious disease that can endanger the life of that organism. But this is also suicide for the rebelling cells because if the organism dies, all the cells die too.
Whether we like to admit it or not, individual humans are also a part of a larger whole. No matter how self-sufficient we try to be, almost all of us (particularly today in our highly technological culture) are dependent upon relationships that connect us to the larger whole. Not only our very survival, but also our social and family connections, our food and livelihoods, our ability to travel and communicate, and everything that makes life more comfortable are dependent on these connections.
In our wisdom as a human species we have invariably formed governments as a way to set up the structure of relationships we need to survive and thrive. We call these connections “infrastructure” and then largely forget about them, much like a fish that is not aware of the water in which he swims.
This infrastructure consists of roads and bridges, airports and air tower controllers, mail, defense, food and drug safety, laws and justice, telecommunications, research and development of all kinds, and many others. And this infrastructure needs energy (money) to function.
Since we created these relationships we can also dismantle or starve them, as many are trying to do today. But what would happen if we dismantled the relationships between the cells in our bodies?
Having distinct socio-economic classes, with lines between those with money and authority and those without, used to serve the whole because not everyone had the time or the ability to acquire the resources or knowledge necessary to sustain the whole. Just like the mini-cultures portrayed in Downton Abby, everyone knew their place and worked hard to serve the whole.
With the advent of the internet and global instant communication, however, these lines are no longer as necessary. In the 21st century, power and authority lie in knowledge and information, which is available to everyone for much less time and effort than ever before. At the same time, we are beginning to understand that while we are citizens of our local neighborhoods, townships, counties, states and nation, we are also citizens of the global community.
Our governmental infrastructure needs to become increasingly global, interactive, co-creative and collaborative, with active participation from the collective, not just in voting but also in knowledge and idea sharing. In this way we can truly profit from the diverse experiences of the entire population, as well as our connections to those in other nations and parts of the globe. At the same time, each national government must work together for the good of the planet.
The natural state of energy is balance, so high energy will always gravitate to fill spaces with low or no energy. Right now the energy state of the world is very unbalanced with those controlling much of the monetary energy preventing it from flowing to lower states. Once many of those with authority and resources have accumulated a lot of energy (money), they stop its natural flow by taking advantage of tax loopholes, legal and political manipulation and offshore tax havens. But preventing flow will also prevent more energy (money) from flowing to the person or institutions hoarding it. And forcing austerity on those who have no or low energy in the first place will only speed up the inevitable breakdown of the whole.
And this is exactly what is happening and probably will continue to happen until the next election.
What then?
What we are witnessing is duality in its extreme, and ironically, absolute opposition is one of the prerequisites of an increase in conscious awareness. Extreme polarity forces us to pay attention to something we may not have been conscious of before. Before long, the breakdown will be so obvious that even conservatives and skeptics will begin to take notice. The majority of everyday people are already beginning to get it, and with their help, lawmakers everywhere will be pushed into awareness also. At some point, the breakdown will begin to touch even the lives of the elite and they will start to realize they are also a part of the whole and will die if they continue to try to starve the entire organism.
The chaos we are seeing in our political centers is a result of these changing infrastructural needs that are a direct result of an evolving human consciousness. Seeing things as energy can better help us understand what is happening currently in the world as well as how best to solve our problems in the future.
Where we go from here is up to us, but it’s not half as bleak as it seems. All is well in all creation because things are evolving for the good of all.
